At le Airport

So i'm sitting at the airport. Yeeee. About to catch a plane to Newcastle...! I'm all coffeed up and have the latest Frankie to keep me company till the plane boards.

I'm staying with my good friend Courtney over at Delicious Ramble and am going to meet a heap of her new friends :)

I'm also pretty keen to check out Blackbird Corner and see Jodie Kitty Robot stuff as well as all the other rad things in there...!

P.s - i got a job! It's sucked not working and having zero money each fortnight after all the bills are paid (this fortnight it was literally zero. I was in minus figures. On a related note thanks mum for some money) plus i like working, so i'm super happy.

So anyway here's a snapshot of my shoes while i wait, my shitty nails and a boob height selfie to show off my rad new shirt and cardigan w/elbow patches. Fyeah.

Feeling Filmy...!

Look what I found...!

A page on Bespoke Zine with my Spring Magnolias photograph!

Squeeeeeee...! I'm so excited people are [slowly] starting to know about me! It's a bit hard to know where to start selling prints and getting my name around as a Photographer on the internet, so this was a very nice surprise!

I've put some new prints up on my Etsy store too! And made it a bit easier to navigate around. Here are a few new shots on my Stranger and Fiction store -

What I really need to do is get off my butt and get some more postcards printed like I've been planning to do for over a year now. Since moving to Brisbane for Uni I've had to stop my paid job as a Photographer, but I'm trying out for a few basic places that are up the road from my flat to try and get some moolah coming in.

What print(s) of mine would you like to see as a postcard? If you comment a suggestion I'll post one to you when I get them printed! [you can choose out of my whole Etsy store, not just these new ones]

Wow I just don't post do I...

I am excellent at things, like regularly posting and doing my laundry. So many things I am good at.

And on that sarcastic note, how about I just throw some photos up here and we can all have a good laugh. I mean look.

Yesterday as I was driving back to Brisbane after my News Photography class at le Gold Coast I teed it up with my friend Aimee Catt [all on hands free people, we gotta be road safe] of Aimee Catt Photography and we went on our first photo adventure together ! Yaaaaaaaaaaay !

I had two cameras in my bag [because I always carry at least one camera at all times, normally 2+] and picked up Aimee on the way through the city. We headed to check out Mt Coo-tha and took some city view shots, then continued our adventure to what was labelled as 'falls' but in reality was a single trickling rock formation lol. It was a brilliant pastel blue - teal clouded shade of water though, but the light was disappearing so quickly by then there wasn't a heap we could take photos of. It was still very fun though and I look forward to more adventures in the future :)

I went home over Easter and walked up the road to our local op shop, which was both a great move and a dumb move because I walked away with a lay-by for this amazing piece of awesome -

It's very rad and is in full working order, brilliant sound, the stylus even sounds cleaner than my one on my regular player. They know me and mum at the shop [my town is very, very small as it's like a sub town on the outskirts of the main bigger one - I wonder if it's even a town? Hmm. Now I don't know what it is. Oh well.] so they grabbed a record and showed me how it all worked - the staff being the right age to have listened to stuff on one of these and even owned one - and played a sick Tijuana brass LP on it. It was so great. The song that kept playing was 'A Walk In The Black Forest' and if there are any Goodies fans out there they will understand how hilarious it was :)

Some other Op Shop finds from my time at home -

Courtney came home for Easter too so we had crazy fun adventure times, namely for her to finish her roll of film for a Uni assignment.

Me impersonating a Hipster. What a bamf.

Because we're mad keen vegos. Or, because of the nature of Courtney's assignment :)

More Hipster shenanigans -

I tried holding my phone camera up to my Minolta SLR and taking a shot through the viewfinder. I got varied results, mainly because of the intense flare I was aiming it at, but hey tough love baby.

And finally, we also drank some tea ! Courtney bought me some, uh, interesting tea to try lol. It looked amazing. In reality, it tasted like poison lol. But the thought was there and we at least tried to drink it! Lolol.

P.S I'm headed to Newcastle next weekend so that'll be fun :)

Do you guys go on any random or even planned adventures? What about drinking horrible tea?

Adam Ant !!!

Last weekend I saw Adam Ant !!!

It was pretty darn great. I brought along my friend Courtney from Delicious Ramble [because she got angry when I didn't invite her in the first place lol - most people don't like the things I think are really cool, like Adam Ant...!] and we drove back up to Brisbane together to see him on Easter Sunday. We were both home for Easter so were able to drive it together rather than Courtney plane or anything, which was good, #1 because I had left a heap of stuff at my flat that I needed to bring home and #2 because road trips are fun and we did fun things!

As we went through Woodburn we saw that there was a vintage fair! We were pulling over anyway so we went and had a look :)

I got a sick little [actually it's quite big] house jewellery box! Or whatever box really. It's so cool, I was so excited to find it and picked it up straight away. I reminds me a lot of Kaylah over at The Dainty Squid :)

I also got the raddest set of plastic Hawaiian esq cups and saucers. I would think they are for picnicking due to the plastic factor, but really I have no idea. I'll get a better shot of them soon!

Adam Ant! I'll let the photos do the talking here.

He was pulling sick shapes all over the place and kept pausing for people to take photos hahaha it was brilliant :)

Totes bought a hand signed photo of him too! It has L<3VE ADAM ANT scrawled across it, sooo good!

I saw Brian Setzer a few weeks back too! [Youtube Stray Cats for an easy identification, but he has much more of a career than just that. This man has like 6+ signature Gretsch's [probs not the right punctuation there] and that is AMAZING.

Been to any concerts lately? Had a good Easter? I hope so!

A faux adventure with a real friend

COURTNEY CAME TO VISIT !

Well, she came to Brisbane for her soon-to-be-sister-in-law 's Hens Night, but that's not the point.

WE HAD FUN.

I BOUGHT HER A BALLOON WITH DINOSAURS AND WAITED FOR HER AT THE AIRPORT. KIDS WERE IMPRESSED AND FOLLOWED ME AROUND.

WE WENT TO KUAN YIN TEA HOUSE AND HAD VERY REALISTIC FAUX MEAT DISHES IN SICK BENTO BOXES. THEY WERE A LITTLE TOO REAL FOR MY STOMACH BUT IT WAS STILL DELICIOUS [it's too real Roy, it's too real...!].

WE GOT OUR HIPSTER ON AND WENT OUT AND PLAYED POOL AND DRANK FIZZY DRINKS.

MY FLAT MATE LACHLAN AND I HAD OUR FLAT WARMING PARTY AND TRANSFORMED THE FLAT IN TO AN ICE CAVERN.

COURTNEY GOT SH*T FACED AT HER HENS NIGHT AND WAS SICK AND I HAD TO PUT HER TO BED. Lol.

Enough of shouting in text form, it's photo montage tiiiiiiiimmmmmeeeee !

P.s uni is pretty ridiculous. Anyone else finding studying a waste of time and money and the whole system a bit shit? I'm hoping when i get out of this B Arts and in to Photography things will get a lot better. Stupid B Arts.

PHOTOS PHOTOS PHOTOS.

END OF MONTAGE.
