Bike bike bike

So I've finally started doing up my bmx. I got it given to me from a friend a few years ago, and I've been a bit hesitant to start because it was his pride and joy since he was a young tyke and rode it every day.

But now it's time for a change!

Due to me not having the right part to get the pegs off, and also due to me being a lazy a*se, instead of taking the wheels off and taking everything apart properly to paint the frame i just used a heap of tape and plastic bags lol.

The old colour scheme of the bike was yellow, blue and red. The new one is purple, black and gold.

I did quite a few coats close together, then a final one along with touch ups a fair few days later.

I found that big w actually has half decent plastic pedals and grips too! $6 is genius for purple grips, and perfect for me working on a budget.

Next step is to gold chrome paint the pedals, spokes, everything like that. Then i'm going to top it off with a gold chain and it'll be schweet as!

Picnic Surprise !

My friend Courtney came home for a break from uni and surprised me one lunchtime with a picnic!

It was so hot, sitting in the shade with cold ginger beer was perfect!

More daily happenings

My cat Agatha had a bad accident a week ago but she's on the mend. Today was the last vet visit. She likes driving around - we even took her for pizza once :)

The first package of new Blythe stuff came in the mail, yayyyy!

My mate Clintchaos came back to town and we had a wander around to look at some Graff and some potential street art places - if you were in to that of course...

Summer has come

It's getting hot. Hotter even. Especially the nights.

If you know me at all you'll know i am definitely a winter person.

Freezing temperatures? My body's like 'hi five!'. Hot or humid temperatures? Let's just say it goes a little something like @#%&$¿?!

The good thing with a change of season is new clothes, new stock in shops, holidays, and festivals. This year, although I've been too broke or too late to get tickets to festivals I'd really like to go to (tearing up thinking about what an idiot i am missing out on Soundwave tickets), i'm planning camping trips and travel adventures and awesome things to make me appreciate the stinking hot sunny days and sauna style nights.

I inherited my late Grandfather's bright green Toyato Liteace and am slowly turning it in to the ultimate camping and road trip van. It's very special to me, and what's making it even better is that i'm filling it with most of my Grandfather's things. Even the other day i found his hammock and umbrella and thought they would be perfect additions to the van :)

There are so many awesome new things for the van though too. Sportsgirl have released their summer gift range which is heavily targeted towards festivals and presents. I bought the coolest ice cream lamp there today, and it's camping friendly because it's battery powered :)

Ny weekend was filled with taking photos for a local newspaper of the big festival our town celebrates every year (more on that later) and frolicing in the backyard with my cats :)
