MELBOURNE - how to

Ok ! I've been working on my MELBOURNE list, here goes !

Last time I was in Melbourne I walked around the Queen Vic Markets attempting to avoid the smell of meat and fish and happened to stumble upon a marvelous store full of Frida esque and Mexican goodies. I would love to stumble upon it again. [insp meaning inspired]

 

I'd go here for Courtney. Probably don't need to go again myself. It was great, probably more so if I was after koala tshirts or  kilos of dead cow.

This was my saviour last time. I had never seen them before. In case you haven't either they're a 24 hour pie store and almost a kind of bakery. Vegetarian pie. Mushy peas. Mash tatoes. At 2 am. In Melbourne winter. YEEESSSSS. This time I possibly will have more money, and i don't have a squalled little freezing room a block away to take it back to this time either lol.

There are at least 3 Dangerfield stores scattered around and one is a giant super store full of either faulty or out of season goods for cheap. Heck yes. Worth a look even if it all turns out to be faulty. But the new stock is awesome, best tshirts everrrr.

Camera shop downstairs, camera museum upstairs. What a win ! Last time I managed to find a sale bucket of filters that were like $10 each. Needless to say I walked out $150 poorer but ultimately much better off !

Pretty self explanitory.

The major ones and the minor ones. I rememeber where most of them are, but I hope to find new ones :)

If we get time. A beach is a beach, but a walk can be nice :) Plus it's got a cool scaled solar system walk.

I forget what it's called but it's really awesome and weird and bright. And I want to go back.

Again, pretty self explanitory. Possibly more so if you know me.

Just to walk past or stand out the front of. To watch the people entering and leaving.

Yes ! The coolest community gardens near St Kilda and the beach.

I want to try out as many as possible !!!

Ok, so this is still growing ! If you know of anywhere let me know ! Also, any bloggers in the area that want a cup of coffee i'd love to say hiii !

I need to start a list !

I head to Melbourne is under a month, and need to start planning some places that I need to take Courtney !

The bestest most coolest fast food joint EVER EVER EVER. It is seriously rad. All vegetarian or vegan fast food. Hand cut chips, cheese burgers, nuggets, ALL DELICIOUSLY FAST FOODY AND MEAT FREE ! How can you get any more genius than that? There's two located in the main CBD of Melbourne - one's on a corner facing Flinders St Station and the other is in the side of the station near the bridge. Here's a link anyway - www.lordofthefries.com.au - and can i suggest that you don't do what I did last time and got a large of everything? Of course it's up to you :)

Of course  the Rose St Markets are on my list. Last time I was there I bought a sick living cactus necklace and a few brooches, and then drooled over everything else. Hopefull I won't be as camera shy this time and get some people shots. Its either every Sunday or something like that, you've got to check it out.

Somewhere in the CBD is a multi level vintage clothing store, and I MUST find it again ! It's like in an arcade and then up the stairs... Hmm...



OK ! That was a few places, i'm going to go make a list and post more tonight !

More Multi Madness

Here are some more of the triple exposed shots. These ones are pretty fab. They're a cross between a birthday party that happened pretty much a year ago exactly, and recent shots of my cats :)

The lens of the first camera these went through was obviously damaged and horrible because the images are warped and the people look nothing like who they actually are. I honestly thought the shots weren't mine until I thought about it and realised what happened lol.

One month to go

One month to go till...

...Melbourne !

Again !

So September some time last year I went to Melbourne, and this year have decided to go again. This time I will be doing a few things differently. For a start, last year I went for 10 days, but this time only 5. Last time I also did it alone, but this time I'm going with my friend Courtney. Not that there was anything wrong with being a loner strapped with cameras in a new city, but this time it'll be a different experience.

Last time I stayed in a Formula One hotel motel, which is pretty much as budget as you can get. It was actually great though. It was in no way luxurious, but so so cheap! 5 beds for $69! Even though I only needed one lol. This time because there is two budgets coming in to play we shopped around and found a [hopefully] fab place on the south side, about a 5 minute walk from Flinders Street Station.

I think this time we'll need more of a structure to our days too. Even though Courtney will be like 'sure I don't mind walking aimlessly and then stopping for 5 minutes every 10 minutes for you to wriggle out each different camera or look at the 50+ angles you could shoot something from' for the first day [or less], after that I believe screaming may ensue. So, if I space it ooouuuutttt, she won't even know ! [except she reads this... darn !]

OKOK enough with the talking. If I was you i'd only be here for the photos.
