When Jaz asked if I wanted to do a guest post on her blog, I wasn't really sure what she wanted me to do. I mean, how can you really guest post on a photo blog? Then she came to my house and delivered a disposable camera and a set of rules (which pretty much was "there are no rules - other than the hip shot and TAKE THIS EVERYHWERE"). I understood somewhat better. I am really happy with how some of the photos turned out - a little blurry, but that adds to the charm, right? Anyway, I'm Courtney and this is a peek into my life, exposed by my excellent and highly popular photography.
The first photo is from a Bluejuice gig. They covered all their amps, guitars, keyboards, even themselves in fluorescent tape and then had only UV lights. It looked great. The second one is my wristband and my dress. Simultaneously!
Just some shoes. Legs. Dresses. Second photo is of the bassist/keyboard player from Philadelphia Grand Jury. He was a total riot to watch. Pretty inspiring if you're into aerobics.
Mum's bag from the 80s. Second photo is one of those bird water whistles that I bought when I decided I was going to create obscure music in a band by myself. This little fellow just sits up there to remind me of my inactivity.
I THINK the first one is some disco lights that I found in the beer garden of a pub. I can't be sure though. The second photo is the reflection of my house in my dad's truck's window screen. The orange bits are some pretty awesome earplugs.
I love this photo. It's just part of Danielle's dress and her hand, I just think the colours are lovely. Second photo is a fruit tingle slushy. They tasted horrible.
When Jazzy first came over to assign my mission, I was taking notes from Howard Moon's Advanced School of Acting Expression. I later went on to study at the Bob Fossil Academy of Dance. The second photo is my completely awesome Hula girl the my mum bought me in Hawaii. Her tinsel is loose.
I was doing my makeup before I went out. It was pretty intense.
The day after these were taken, Jaz and I went op shopping and bought a pretty spiffy $2 35mm camera. It's red and matches my digital camera. That's the main reason I bought it. Hopefully the photos from it will turn out slightly better than the ones here. Actually I forgot to clean the lens like Jaz told me to so perhaps not. Could also just be quite cool grungy dirty quality.
Verdict: I should never try to make a living out of photography.
Things learned: DON'T STAND SO CLOSE! JUST CALM DOWN AND BACK AWAY. Also how to put in new film or take out used film. And that random photographs can turn out quite cool.
