A faux adventure with a real friend

COURTNEY CAME TO VISIT !

Well, she came to Brisbane for her soon-to-be-sister-in-law 's Hens Night, but that's not the point.

WE HAD FUN.

I BOUGHT HER A BALLOON WITH DINOSAURS AND WAITED FOR HER AT THE AIRPORT. KIDS WERE IMPRESSED AND FOLLOWED ME AROUND.

WE WENT TO KUAN YIN TEA HOUSE AND HAD VERY REALISTIC FAUX MEAT DISHES IN SICK BENTO BOXES. THEY WERE A LITTLE TOO REAL FOR MY STOMACH BUT IT WAS STILL DELICIOUS [it's too real Roy, it's too real...!].

WE GOT OUR HIPSTER ON AND WENT OUT AND PLAYED POOL AND DRANK FIZZY DRINKS.

MY FLAT MATE LACHLAN AND I HAD OUR FLAT WARMING PARTY AND TRANSFORMED THE FLAT IN TO AN ICE CAVERN.

COURTNEY GOT SH*T FACED AT HER HENS NIGHT AND WAS SICK AND I HAD TO PUT HER TO BED. Lol.

P.s uni is pretty ridiculous. Anyone else finding studying a waste of time and money and the whole system a bit shit? I'm hoping when i get out of this B Arts and in to Photography things will get a lot better. Stupid B Arts.

Mail time!

Sent off a print yesterday to Sarah, all the way to the US !

I hope it gets there nice and safely and when it does that you enjoy it :)

Been too busy to post but that shouldn't be an excuse. I'm disappointed that colour developing in the city is so expensive, and that this blog has changed from primarily film images to phone shots. I hope to keep posting my film photos, i just need more moolah first lol.

The joys of having a fridge

There are so many things you need a fridge for. (soy) Milk. Butter. Salad. Storing things. Cold water because it is so hot of a day you and your flat mate have abb flexing competitions due to walking around shirtless.

Ok that last thing didn't really happen - the competition that is, we totes walked around shirtless most of yesterday (me in a bra of course) - because we now have FURNITURE! YAAAAAAY! And setting it all up has been pretty darn hot work.

I've been doing a ridiculous amount of packing, unpacking, shifting things, sitting on things, watching things, listening to things. Hooray!

# Aaron being our first house guest and eating teddy pasta at our new table! I'm trying out for bass player in a band he's in, it's called Without Myth and is a very fast punk band that has very well written music thanks to Aaron's extreme skill :)

# 'Louis Vitton' sneakers in the op shop across the road. They are sick, i love sneakers and think these are hilarious. They wouldn't be real at all, but unfortunately the op shop thinks so so they've put $25 on them. Sad face. No funny rip off sneakers for me.

# Awesome parcel a friend sent, how sick is the Spiderman lunch box!! It's half packed on my kitchen counter ready for uni now :)

More un ordered photos of un ordered things

So we still have no internet. And no fridge. And no furniture.

I DID however drive home on Tuesday to attempt to finish packing and cleaning my room (note *attempt*) so managed to pack the tv and xbox and rockband guitar and drums in the car to relieve sitting on our sorry attempt of a lounge and watching the three movies we each had on our laptops (my external hd was at home).

So we now have a tv! Yaaaaaay!

I went to my first uni information lecture yesterday. It was good. It would have been good-er if it didn't go for an hour and a half, was't in a heavily air conditioned room and wasn't heavily reliant on the fuzzy projected computer screen that gave me a killer headache. But at least now i know how to find links on the Griffith library website that do the same job that the talk did! Oh wait... Lol nah it wasn't that bad, just very very long.

# The most foul thing i have ever received under the label of 'food' - a pizza at a uni cafe that was dripping with so much oil, i had to actually wring each piece out, and even then when i tore it or bit it, oil squirted out. That highlight that you see isn't a camera thing, it's actually the oil reflecting. *shudder*

# Vegetable Soup! After eating that pizza and coming home and being sick lol, I needed something to make me feel better. Coffee is great for getting your metabolism going but the place across the road had shut and all my coffee things are in a box somewhere. So I made soup! It was very yummy. Nice and simple fo my tummy :)

# Our makeshift lounge and evening computer screen watching lol. Thank goodness we now have a tv!

New Diggs!!!

Hello from my new (and first ever) flat! I am officially living in Brisvegas now :)

I've been so busy finishing up work and preparing for uni and packing and house hunting and and and ... Phew ok so it's all paid off!

We've been cleaning our new place like mad men (and still are), so here's some photos of what my long time friend and new housemate Lachlan and I have been up to :)

We won't have internet for maybe even 2+ weeks due to phone companies being ridiculous, so i'm posting from my phone which means my photos upload in whatever order they choose. This is what they're of anyway:

# Raddest vego burger at Route 74 diner (not sure if 74 is the number lol) at Toowong Shopping Village. It was as big as my face and amazingly delicious.

# First dinner in the house! My vego twist on spaghetti bolognaise (which I've never actually had before lol, my growing up staple food was probably salad or spinach and feta pie or something). It had crunchy but sweet fried onion, balsamic fried mushrooms, a whack of herbs and whatever pasta sauce lachlan had lol. Yummy!

Been so busy i know i haven't posted in ages. I've been so busy with getting ready to move and uni (woo i got in!).
